‘Bale Should Snub Man United & Stay At Real Madrid’- Ex Red Devils Player Ryan Giggs

‘Bale Should Snub Man United & Stay At Real Madrid’- Ex Red Devils Player Ryan Giggs

Wales boss Ryan Giggs has told Gareth Bale to forget the approaches of Manchester United and stay instead at Real Madrid.
Giggs is an Old Trafford legend but he has counselled his current charge that remaining at the Bernabeu would be best for his career.
Bale has struggled to win playing time in recent months under Zinedine Zidane, and while that has led to reports of a potential exit in the summer, his international manager does not see that has a major concern.
“It’s Real Madrid – there are only a handful of clubs who have got that aura,” he said.
“Of course you would want to stay there. What’s Gareth won, three Champions League titles? The proof is in that. When you are at clubs like that, you are always going to win things.”
Giggs took the praise one step further for the man who this week became his country’s record scorer by netting three times in a friendly against China, comparing him to Ballon d’Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Gareth has the ability to score every type of goal and there are similarities with Ronaldo,” he explained. “They both started out as wingers and they are now goalscorers.”
That victory over China was the first match of Giggs’ reign and he too is eager to improve. Asked in the areas where there is scope for development he said: “I am not a naturally outgoing person. Everything just comes with that little bit of experience.”
Wales tackle Uruguay on Monday.

Football Association Confirms Manchester United And Chelsea FA Cup Dates

The Football Association has confirmed dates and ticket prices for this season’s FA Cup semi-final clashes.
Manchester United will take on Tottenham at 5:15pm on Saturday April 21, while Chelsea vs Southampton has been scheduled for 3pm the following day.
Ticket prices semi-finals and final will be increased for the first time in three years.
Fans of the four clubs will be charged up to £20 more for semi-final tickets and £30 more for final tickets.
The cheapest ticket for the semi-final matches remains £30, while the most expensive entrance will cost a huge £80, compared with last year’s £60 for a Category A ticket.
The most expensive ticket for May’s final will now cost £145, rather than the 2017 price of £115, while Category B tickets are up £15 to £65.
“The cheapest tickets for these matches will remain the same as in 2016 and 2017, £30 for the semi-finals and £45 for the final.
“This season we made the decision to increase the price of some tickets in the stadium. This is the first time that we have raised the price of tickets for Emirates FA Cup semi-final and final ties in three years.
“The Emirates FA Cup semi-final and final are some of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar and these new prices are in line with many of these events.
“It’s always important to remember that The FA is a not-for-profit organisation where every pound and penny of profit is reinvested back into every level of football in England. If you’re buying a ticket for the semi-final or the final you are directly investing in the future of the game in this country,” the director of professional game relations, Andy Ambler, said.

Team News! Super Eagles Boss Gernot Rohr Reveals Goalkeeper To Start vs Poland

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has revealed that young Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, will make his first start in the game against Poland.
Uzoho made his first appearance for the Eagles, when he came on for Daniel Akpeyi in the 4-2 win against Argentina on November 14, 2017.
He will replace Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who is in the squad but is recovering from injury.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Rohr also explained why Poland picked the Eagles for a friendly.
“We know very well the Senegalese team who play good football, they have a strong team.
“I suppose we are invited because they (Poland) are playing Senegal (at the World Cup). And we and Senegal are the only two black African teams at the World Cup, the other three African teams (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco) are from North Africa.
“It will be good preparation for Poland but also for us because Croatia has very high level. And we play Serbia next Tuesday in London so we have two good preparation games for the World Cup.”

‘What Super Eagles Must Do To Beat Poland Today’- Ex-striker, Olisadebe Speaks

Nigerian-born former Polish striker Emmanuel Olisadebe says Super Eagles must ensure tight marking in tonight’s Poland vs Nigeria friendly.
The game kicks off 8.45pm.
The Nigeria defence is expected to be tested by Bayern Munich star striker, Robert Lewandowski inside a sold-out 42,000-capacity Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw.
Reacting, Olisadebe urged the defenders to cage the top player.
“He is their best player by many miles, he scores goals and he plays for a top club like Bayern Munich,” Olisadebe told SCORENigeria.
“The Nigerian defenders also play in Europe, but it is not often that they come up against such a top striker like him.
“This will be a good test for both teams before the World Cup and the result does not really matter.
“Poland will face Senegal at the World Cup and so Nigeria will be a good African test for them.
“Nigeria, on the other hand, will from this game know their level of readiness for the World Cup. I believe the better team on the day will win.
“They have some very good players, who play for good teams in good leagues around Europe.
“They deserve their rating because they have won some important games,” he added.
Olisadebe was born in Nigeria, but has gone on to score 11 goals in 25 appearances for adopted country Poland and also featured at the 2002 World Cup.

Manchester United Trigger One-year Extension For Ashley Young

Man Utd have triggered the extra year’s extension in versatile left-back Ashley Young’s contract at Old Trafford.
The 32-year-old’s previous deal had been set to expire this summer.
Ashley Young has won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League in his time at Old Trafford.
He has played in 29 matches this season, scoring two goals, and won a spot back in the England squad.
Young has made 31 international appearances and was named in manager Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this month’s friendly matches against the Netherlands and Italy.
News of the contract extension could have implications for left-back Luke Shaw, whose future is reportedly uncertain after he was criticised by Mourinho following Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Brighton

Lionel Messi Hints At International Retirement After 2018 FIFA World Cup

Lionel Messi Hints At International Retirement After 2018 FIFA World Cup

Lionel Messi has conceded that the 2018 World Cup could be his last chance at glory with Argentina.
Lionel Messi has been unable to follow up trophies at Barcelona with success on the international stage.
LMessi endured three successive losses in major finals – World Cup (2014), Copa America (2015, 2016) – and the forward conceded those defeats have left him in tears.
“I cried many times because of games like these, for lost finals, for what they mean and for not being able to achieve the dream of a country,” Messi told Argentine television program La Cornisa.
“They [the three finals] were tough blows,” Messi continued. “It seems like having reached three finals doesn’t help us at all.”
Defeat in the most recent Copa America final led Messi to retire from international duty in 2016, but after the Argentine public, including president Mauricio Macri, urged him to reconsider, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner reversed his decision less than two months later.
Lionel Messi admitted this summer’s edition could be his final shot of World Cup success.
“We depend on the results, unfortunately,” Messi said. “We feel that if we are not champions … we will not have another.”
“I imagine being able to be in that game, to win it, to be able to raise the cup. It’s the dream I have always had and every time a World Cup comes it gets even stronger.
“I want to tell people that I hope it’s a great World Cup for us, that my wish is the same as all of you and that we can live something similar to 2014, which was an unforgettable experience, and that the result is similar but this time raising the cup is everyone’s dream.”

Tottenham To Make Up To £175m Profit On Harry Kane If They Decide To Sell Him At The End Of The Season

Tottenham To Make Up To £175m Profit On Harry Kane If They Decide To Sell Him At The End Of The Season

Tottenham will make a £175m profit on Harry Kane if they were to sell the striker at the end of the season, according to the CIES Football Observatory.
Harry Kane did not cost Tottenham a penny to purchase as he came through the academy and therefore any money made from his sale will be a profit.
The research indicates that the North London club stand to make more money from the England international than any other player in the world, with Lionel Messi rated at £173m if Barcelona were to cash in.
Dele Alli is third in the CIES ranking, meanwhile, with a potential profit of £139m, and Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann also features high on the list with a return of £115m.

Ernesto Valverde And Marc-Andre Ter Stegen Urge Andres Iniesta To Stay At Barcelona

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen have expressed their desire to see Andres Iniesta stay at the club.
The Barca captain has received an offer from China and has indicated that he has to make a decision over his future before the end of next month.
“First we will wait for him to say that he’s leaving. He has not expressed himself in any way. At the moment Andres is with us and we count on him. We all want to have Andres Iniesta forever, but we’ll see what happens,” Valverde told Sport.
“It’s a personal decision but everyone hopes he will stay at Barca because he’s a great person. We know we need to keep going as team until the end and we need him now and in the years to come. We’re focused on the present and he will make his decision when he has to,”
”I hope he stays but he’s the only one that knows. We know what a great person he is, how important he is to the club and we have to try and keep him here.”
”It’s a personal decision. We’re going to support him and of course we want our captain [here].” Ter Stegen is also quoted as saying in Sport.

VAR TO MAKE WORLD CUP DEBUT IN RUSSIA

9:42 AM
VAR TO MAKE WORLD CUP DEBUT IN RUSSIA

Video assistant referee technology will make its debut at the World Cup in Russia this summer despite lingering opposition from within and outside football, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said Friday.

“We are going to have in 2018, for the first time, a World Cup with VAR,” said Infantino after a meeting of the FIFA Council which, as expected, rubber-stamped the go-ahead given by the rule-making International Football Association Board (IFAB) in Zurich two weeks ago.

“This has been approved and we are really very happy with this decision.”

The World Cup, which takes place from June 14-July 15, will see VAR used to judge whether or not a goal has been scored, analyse whether a penalty should be awarded, decide on red cards and rectify if a player has been mistakenly sanctioned.

“What we want is to help and to give the referee the possibility to have extra help when he has to make important decisions, and in a World Cup we make very important decisions,” added Infantino.

“It cannot be possible that in 2018 everybody, in the stadium or at home, knows in a few seconds if the referee has made a mistake but not the referee himself — not because he doesn’t want to know about it but because we forbid him to know.

“The VAR is helping the referee and we are going to have a more transparent and fairer game, and that’s what we want.”

VAR has been trialled since 2016 by 20 federations, including the German Bundesliga and Italian Serie A, with around 1,000 matches involved.

But it has not been universally welcomed with even UEFA, the European governing body, still to be convinced.

“Nobody knows exactly how VAR will work. There is already a lot of confusion,” said UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, who insists that VAR will not be used in next season’s Champions League.

“I am not at all against it but we must better explain when it will be used. We will see at the World Cup.”

Premier League Legend Merson Reveals Why Jose Mourinho Want Manchester United To SACK Him

Premier League Legend Merson Reveals Why Jose Mourinho Want Manchester United To SACK Him
Former England player, Paul Merson has claimed Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho wants the club to sack him.
He said the Portuguese was purposely trying to provoke the board into making a decision.
During his 12-minute press conference on Friday, the former Chelsea boss questioned the club and squad he inherited when he took over in 2016.
United were dumped out of the Champions League by Sevilla on Tuesday and Mourinho hit out at the club’s lack of investment afterwards and questioned the Red Devils’ lack of success in the competition in the past.
The former Real Madrid manager signed a new deal at Old Trafford in January but Merson said he underestimated the size of the job at Old Trafford and wants to leave already.
Merson told Sky Sport, “It seems to me that he’s trying to make it a bit unrestful at the moment,’ Merson said on Sky Sports.
“You look from a distance at the PSG job, you look at that now, he’s probably looked at the Man City one and he’s probably sitting there thinking ‘I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew here and Man City are a million miles above us and I need to sort of find a way of getting out of here’.
“You don’t talk like he’s talking at the moment. You don’t start knocking Manchester United for what they’ve done in the last so many years.
And then he’s saying to the players they need to grow up. Everything’s about everybody else but not about him at the moment. I think this will end soon, I think it will end soon.”

Salah Scores Four Goals As Liverpool Beat Watford 5-0 In The Premier League
Mohamed Salah scored four goals as Liverpool moved up to third in the Premier League table by thrashing Watford at Anfield.
Salah danced through Watford’s defence to score early in the game before poking home Andy Robertson’s cross late in the first half.
He set up Roberto Firmino’s clever flick for Liverpool’s third, then added two late strikes to complete the rout.
Liverpool have now opened a seven-point gap over Chelsea in fifth.
Jurgen Klopp’s side also remain unbeaten at home in the Premier League this season.
It was Watford’s second successive defeat, and despite chances for Roberto Pereyra and Richarlison, they never looked like getting back into the game.
But the Hornets are still eight points above the relegation zone and sit comfortably in 11th position.

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt failed spectacularly to finish the last race of his career the World Championship in London. He developed a muscle pull and was unable to finish the 4×100 relay final for his country.
It was an agonizing end for the former world champion, who now formally retired today. He was running the final leg of the World Championships 4×100 meters relay as Britain beat the United States for a shock gold medal.
Bolt, who had to settle for bronze in the individual 100 meters, had been hoping to sign off from the sport by leading Jamaica to a fifth successive relay gold but they were already struggling in third when he collected the baton.

As he tried to gain ground, Bolt pulled up and fell to the floor with what looked like a hamstring injury.
The United States, with individual gold and silver medalists Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman running the second and fourth legs, had been expected to push the Jamaicans all the way.
Instead, a brilliantly executed race by Chijindu Ujah, Adam Gemili, Danny Talbot and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake gave Britain gold in 37.47 seconds, the best time in the world this year.
The US took silver in 37.52 with Japan third in 38.04.

Real Madrid defeat Man U 2-1 to win UEFA Super Cup (Match re-cap/photos)
Real Madrid football club of Spain is now the confirmed kings of Europe after defeating Manchester United football club of England 2-1 in a tactically contested match at Philip II Arena, Skopje, Macedonia.
Real Madrid who had an average pre-season came into the game as favorites, despite transfer speculation surrounding star forwards Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, while Man U had a good pre-season preparation with new signings Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romeu Lukaku.

In the beginning of the first half, there as too much pressure coming from Marcelo and Carvajal down the flanks, with Man U's 3-man/wing-backs defensive structure letting them down at times.
Real Madrid, without Cristiano Ronaldo, scored in the 23rd minute after Casemiro forced in a wonderful cross from Carvajal.
United had some good moments in the first half, but always lacked the final touch. At the beginning of the second half, Lingard- silent in the first half, was substituted for Marcos Rashford, and immediately the Mancunian brought in life into Manchester United's attack.

Isco, doubled Real Madrid's lead minutes after, after good inter-play with Man U target, Gareth Bale, slotting the ball skillfully into the net.
Man U coach, Jose Mourinho reacted immediately, replacing Ander Herrera with Marouane Fellaini- which paid off immediately as Romelu Lukaku in the 62nd minute slotted in a rebound after missing a very wonderful chance earlier on.
Man U former player and fan favorite, Cristiano Ronaldo who had just come back from holiday was introduced in the 83rd minute, to stretch out his muscles.
Man United players huffed and puffed, but there was nothing much they could do, Madrid ran out the deserving winners.
The UEFA Super Cup is an annual clash played between the winner of the UEFA Champions League and the winner of the UEFA Europa League.
Another trophy for Real Madrid. Los Blancos as they are fondly called, are winners of last season's La Liga, Champions League and Club World Cup and now the Super Cup.
Congrats to Real Madrid!!!

usain bolt retires as a legend after justin gatlin gaps him in the 100m final on saturday

The great Jamaican will retire after the IAAF World Championships in London, bringing the curtain down on an incomparable career.

But in the 100m final on Saturday he had to settle for bronze as the controversial American Justin Gatlin secured a surprise victory in a season's best 9.92 seconds.

Fellow American Christian Coleman (9.94) took silver, with eight-time Olympic champion Bolt, still the reigning 100m and 200m world record holder, in bronze, clocking 9.95 seconds.

Gatlin entered London's Olympic Stadium with the crowd's boos ringing in his ears. The 35-year-old is regarded by many as the sport's villain after twice being banned for doping offenses. He was also jeered in the heats and semifinals.

But the 2004 Olympic champion said he "tuned out" the supporters' din to claim a victory which wrecked Bolt's farewell.
